Nominations open for the Global Diversity List
Nominations are being invited for the Global Diversity List 2015. The aim of the list is to create the definitive global diversity standard that covers every aspect of diversity in every country.
This year a list will be published online in October and aims to bring a “new rigour” to the diversity profession. There will be several categories in the list ranging from the top 50 diversity professionals in industry and the top 10 diversity champions to sections that recognise networks.
In 2016 a global benchmarking tool will be introduced, allowing companies to conduct a multi-strand global benchmarking exercise. The tool will also be able to be used to help organisations establish their global baseline on diversity and track and monitor progress. The following year will see the benchmarking tool enhanced, allowing users to select the data they want based on demographic, geography and industry sectors.
Explaining why benchmarking diversity is important, the Global Diversity List states that the diversity professions has evolved as a branch of human resources over the last two decades and as yet there are no formal qualifications required to be a diversity professional.
“No universal, global, independent standard exists that can quantify the performance of organisations in the delivery of diversity. The creation of the Global Diversity List will address this fundamental weakness in the assessment of company performance in diversity,” it adds.
“The Global Diversity List will become the gold standard for diversity, globally. All organisations who wish to be seen as credible corporate players in the field of diversity will be required to be accredited by the Global Diversity List.”
