ClientEarth welcome University of Cambridge air pollution report
ClientEarth have commented on the University of Cambridge report into air pollution and the health benefits of walking and cycling.
Alan Andrews, ClientEarth lawyer, said: “We welcome this report which highlights the physical benefits of walking and cycling. These activities would be even healthier if the air we breathe was clean.“
“Whether we are walking or cycling or driving our cars we are still breathing toxic and illegal levels of air pollution which harms our health. That is why ClientEarth is going back to court.”
“The government’s new plans to tackle air pollution are woefully inadequate. They won’t achieve legal limits for years to come. The longer they are allowed to dither and delay, the more people will suffer from serious illness and miss out on the multiple benefits of breathing cleaner air.”
