Organisers of the POWER-GEN Europe and Renewable Energy World Europe conference, which takes place later this month in Italy, have announced the first two people who will deliver speeches at the event. The conference and exhibition will bring together key people in the power and renewable industries from across the world. The event takes place from 21 to 23 June at the MiCo Milano.

Enrico Viale, Head of Global Generation, Enel Group, Italy, and Dr. Iulian Iancu, President of the Industry & Services Commission in the Chamber of Deputies in Romania and President of the Romanian National Committee, World Energy Council, will take to the stand to present their keynotes on Europe’s power industry on the first day of the show.

The highly anticipated keynote speeches will reflect the theme of this year’s show – ‘Delivering an Integrated Energy Future’. Further keynote speeches will be announced in the coming weeks.

Nigel Blackaby, Conference Director of POWER-GEN Europe, said: “This year’s keynote speakers will deliver expert insight on the current status of Europe’s power industry and the future of the sector. Enel we will provide the perspective from inside Italy’s energy industry – the home of POWER-GEN Europe – while Dr Iancu will provide the viewpoint from an EU member country in Central Europe.

“To achieve an integrated system, Europe’s energy industry must be flexible. This means flexible in terms of the power we deliver, and also in terms of our willingness to re-structure the sector. These keynote sessions offer the chance for attendees to gain exclusive insight from our continent’s experts, and learn about the new opportunities change offers.”

In recognition of the event’s importance to the electricity supply industry and energy efficiency, this year’s conference and exhibition has the official Patronage of Italy’s Ministry of Economic Development, under newly appointed Minister Carlo Calenda.

POWER-GEN Europe will also play host to the launch of a new report from the World Energy Council, “Variable Renewables Electricity System Integration.”
