After being assessed as meeting the criteria for the B Corp certification the news was revealed yesterday that WHEB Asset Management is now a Certified B Corporation. To businesses, “B Corp”, certified by the B Lab, is the equivalent of a Fair Trade certification for food and drink. WHEB Asset Management would have had to meet demanding standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency to receive the accolade.
There are over 1,700 B Corporations in 50 countries, with 1 unifying goal – to redefine success in business. B Corporations are important because they inspire all businesses to compete, not only to be the best in the world, but to be the best for the world.
In order to be certified, WHEB Asset Management has met with the higher standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability required of B Corporations. These performance standards are comprehensive, transparent and verified, measuring our impact on all of our stakeholders (including workers, suppliers, community, customers and the environment).
Becoming a certified B Corporation underlines our commitment to sustainability and our overall mission, to “advance sustainability and create prosperity through positive impact investments”.
