Anti-wind campaign falls at first hurdle

There’s a new anti-wind campaign roaming the streets. It’s called National Opposition to Windfarms (or NOW), and was launched earlier today at an event at the Houses of Parliament.

It’s been set up “to oppose windfarms by tackling policy“, and “will also be a source of collective knowledge and strategic help“.

But on the same day that NOW was announced, the results from a RenewableUK survey threaten to spoil the party.

The trade and professional body for the UK wind industry’s research found that 67% of the public are pro-wind – a figure that dwarfs the 8% that oppose.

And judging by the ‘current supporters’ counter on NOW’s website, which at the last check clocked in at -1,999,999,979 (that’s minus 1,999,999,979), the campaign might take a wee while to get off the ground…
