Exeter students helping Channel Island with renewables
A group of students from the University of Exeter have been helping Guernsey’s Commerce and Employment Department investigate the island’s offshore wind, wave and tidal power potential.
Deputy Robert Sillars, chairman of the department’s Renewable Energy Team, said, “We have done a lot of work already but this field visit will form an overarching view on the island’s renewable future and use information from past and current projects.”
The team of 26 undergraduates that made the 150 mile journey across the English Channel will be presenting its findings at the end of the trip.
