Guernsey renewables research is on track
Research into renewable energy being conducted on Guernsey by a group of students from the University of Exeter is on track.
The team of 26 undergraduates are on the island to help investigate its offshore wind, wave and tidal power potential.
“It’s been a great independent check and confirmation we’re going in the right direction“, said Mat Desforges, lead officer for Guernsey’s Commerce and Employment Department’s renewable energy team.
The investigating group commented on the island’s “vast wind, wave and tidal resource” and added that these forms of clean power had “good potential for financial returns“.
