Heartland receives General Motors funding blow
Back in February, we wrote about the ongoing saga between climate scientist Peter Gleick, and climate sceptic think-tank, the Heartland Institute. The organisation has received another blow to its image after General Motors, the world’s largest car manufacturer, announced it would be cutting all ties with Heatland, bringing an end to a 20-year relationship because of the think-tank’s stance on global warming.
Dan Akerson, chairman and chief executive officer of General Motors Co said at a Commonwealth Club appearance, “we’ll continue to run our business as if climate change is real and believe we have a role to play in developing new cars, trucks and technologies that can make a difference”.
