Schwarzenegger’s R20 group lands in Geneva
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s non-profit environmental group R20 Regions of Climate Action, has become the latest addition in expanding International Geneva’s increasingly green network.
The alliance of 30 city and regional governments and partners is set to aid the development of low-carbon projects worldwide and joins, in its newly installed 19th century mansion, some 250 NGOs and 32 international organisations, many of which are in the environmental field.
Geneva appears to be one of the most important grounds for cleantech development and is also attracting a thriving network in the world of finance and investments.
“R20 is not just another NGO or network of regions, it is much more than that”, said Schwarzenegger, who is also fronting a movement called Sustainia, which visualises a sustainable future.
“It is a real coalition of forces which believe that climate change and green economic development can be tackled at the sub-national level.”
