It is encouraging applications relating to innovation in KIC InnoEnergy’s “Thematic Fields”:

– Clean coal and gas technologies

– Energy storage

– Energy efficiency

– Energy from chemical fuels

– Renewable energies

– Smart and efficient buildings and cities

– Smart electric grid

– Sustainable nuclear and renewable convergence

Diego Pavia, Chief Executive Officer of KIC InnoEnergy, explained: “A truly sustainable energy sector needs new products, new solutions and new services. But transforming the spark of an innovation into a successful and marketable product can be a long and complex journey. Technical expertise, commercial awareness and access to a variety of skills and resources are critical in order turn a concept into reality.

“KIC InnoEnergy’s Call for Innovation Proposals helps to address the challenges that many innovators face in bringing their concepts to market and to shorten the journey from lab to launch. Crucially we provide the investment, as well as partnerships and commercial skills, that are so often lacking and without which many concepts would never make it off the drawing board. Our job is to help develop innovative products, services and solutions that have high commercial potential and by doing this we are expanding the circle of innovation in Europe’s energy sector.”
