Good Energy were honoured with two awards at the prestigious British Renewable Energy awards 2016. Good Energy, which provides totally renewable energy and green gas, won awards for ‘Company of the Year’ and ‘Customer Service Recognition’. A member of the innovation team at Good Energy was also recognised in the ‘Young Renewable Energy Professional’ category.

David Brooks, managing director at Good Energy, said: “It’s been a great week for Good Energy. Supporting customers and the environment is at the core of our ethos. Winning awards gives us an extra burst of inspiration to keep working towards a more sustainable, renewable future for them.

“We’re incredibly proud of the whole team and it’s fantastic to see their work over the last year acknowledged in this way.”

Dr Nina Skorupska CBE, Chief Executive of the REA, said: “Good Energy are genuine market leaders, showing you can be an ethical and competitive energy provider, successful business and have exceptional levels of customer satisfaction.

“The judges were impressed with the commitment Good Energy show to customer service, and were worthy winners in both categories.”

Will Heinzelmann from Good Energy’s innovation team was also highly commended in the ‘Young Renewable Energy Professional’ category.

Will said: “It’s a real honour to receive this recognition from two leading bodies in the energy sector. Before joining the team in 2014, I had no experience in the energy industry. It’s been great to get the opportunity to work for Good Energy and learn more about an industry that I am so passionate about.”

The company scooped the awards following its work to make a positive contribution to communities, society and the environment, and for its customer service, which continues to set the bar for the rest of the industry.

In the past year, this included providing community donations at all of its renewable projects, helping to fund a new school playground and church bell restoration scheme, and becoming the only energy company to top three consecutive polls for customer service by users of MoneySavingExpert.com.
