Business Green Award Given To Starship Technologies

An announcement today has awarded Starship’s fleet of electrically-powered, zero (CO2) emission delivery robots the 2016 Business Green award for supply chain/logistics technology of the year.

This year’s categories covered every facet of the clean tech sector, including; building technology solar innovation, Smart City technology and breakthrough of the year.

Starship’s robot delivery fleet was selected by an expert panel of independent judges, who recognised and acknowledged the company’s sustainable credentials and its focus to reduce traffic congestion in heavily populated urban areas.

The robots have now covered over 12,600 miles in 16 countries and 58 cities, coming into contact with over 2 million people all over the globe, and commercial partners in Europe already include; Just Eat, Swiss Post, Hermes and Metro Group.

Starship is working closely with a number of cities in the US including Sunnyvale, San Carlos, and Menlo Park, and similar efforts are continuing in Europe after the success of the joint testing program in London, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Bern (Switzerland) and Tallinn (Estonia).
