Method is an eco-friendly household cleaning products company, with a real focus on green, toxin-free living and an eye for style and detail.

Roommates Adam Lowry and Eric Ryan, who were looking at revolutionary ways to clean by respecting the environment, founded Method in San Francisco in 2001.

Eric knew people wanted cleaning products they didn’t have to hide under their sinks. And Adam knew how to make them without any dirty ingredients”, it says on Method’s website.

Their powers combined, they set out to save the world and create an entire line of home care products that were more powerful than a bottle of sodium hypochlorite.”

In 2005, Method started to sell products in Canada and the UK and one year later, was recognised by Inc magazine as the seventh fastest growing private company in the US.

Its cleaning formulas are made with naturally derived surfactants that work by dissolving and removing dirt, but at the same time are completely safe for humans and animals. Method uses natural ingredients and flower, fruits and herb fragrances.

Products are made with sustainable material, 100% recycled plastic bottles and are not tested on animals. At the same time, the company is working to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and become greener.

Method’s products are thought to be not only ecological and safe but also aesthetically nice. Design of products is a very important stage, as it involves creating the best pieces of “recyclable plastic art”.

In 2012, leading ecological cleaning company Ecover bought Method and officially created the world’s largest green cleaning company.
