The problems with our water – the Geovation Challenge

25 November is when Ordnance Survey launches its 9th Geovation Challenge. This time the team are on the lookout for bright ideas that can improve our relationship with water. Specifically its availability – too little, too much, poor quality, ageing infrastructure, and user and management behaviour.

They have produced a white paper that uses examples from home and abroad to demonstrate some economic and social reasons as to why we need to begin improving our relationship with water now.

The Geovation process looks for answers that work locally that can also be exported round the world and so far the Geovation Challenges have created 31 new ventures who have received £750,000 in development funding as well as the support of Ordnance Survey and its partners.
