What is the future of philanthropy? Katherine Fulton, president of Monitor Institute, attempts to answer that very question in this week’s featured TED talk.
Giving five practical examples, she explains how crowd-driven philanthropy could form a large part of the giving sector in the coming years. She talks about ‘philanthrocapitalism’ and ‘philanthroentrepreneurs’ and calls for a new generation of philanthropists.
“Philanthropy is reorganising itself before our very eyes“, she says in the talk.
“And even though all of the experiments and all of the big givers don’t yet fulfill this aspiration, I think this is the new zeitgeist: open, big, fast, connected, and, let us also hope — long.”
