Last chance for investors to receive 7.5% return on wind turbine investment
An early bird offer that gives investors the opportunity to see a 7.5% return on an investment in the wind industry is closing today.
The crowdfunding campaign, launched via the platform Trillion Fund, is seeking to raise £1.25 million to install five standalone wind turbines at sites across the UK that already have planning permission. Investors that pledge their money today can expect to receive a fixed 7.5% return over three years, a substantially better rate than those currently offered by savings accounts.
Investors that pledge their money after today can expect to receive a still attractive return of 7.25%.
The campaign has proved popular, with the project raising over £900,000 with 61 days still to go. If the money going into the campaign continues at its current pace it would close 50 days ahead of schedule.
The project, E2 Energy, is a joint venture between wind turbine manufacturer Endurance Wind Power and installer Earthmill. The investment made will be secured against five 50 kilowatt turbines that are already operating and generating enough power for 228 homes. This method gives investors more security.
Research has found that wind investment make an “attractive long-term” opportunity for energy investors. One recent study disputed claims that wind turbines have a limited shelf life when compared to other energy technologies.
