Caravanning is a great eco-friendly holiday and the Motorhome and Caravan Show will have a variety of eco-friendly products and services with nearly 400 exhibitors will be at the show filling 11 halls.

As we look for ‘greener’ holidays, caravan manufacturers, suppliers and caravan parks are improving their product offering to make it more environmentally friendly. Many parks now encourage a leave-no-trace principle that promotes visitors to leave both the site and surrounding area exactly as they found it. On site recycling bins, composting public toilets, ground source heating, biomass boilers, rainwater harvesting and the use of solar power are just some of the ways used to lessen impact on the environment.

Some caravan parks have specially created wildlife areas and provide details of local foot paths and cycling routes to encourage holidaymakers to leave the car on-site when exploring the surrounding area. With the government committing to reducing UK emissions by at least 80% in 2050 from 1990 levels*, the industry believes it is important to contribute to creating more eco-friendly holiday options. The off-site construction of caravan holiday homes and lodges also has eco advantages, such as control of dust and noise and better recycling of waste.

There is also now a wide range of eco-friendly accessories that you can get for your next holiday, including energy saving shower heads, roof mounted or free standing solar panel kits and specially designed cleaning materials and toiletries that use chemicals that won’t harm the environment. A variety of eco-friendly products will be on show at the Motorhome and Caravan Show held at the NEC in Birmingham from 11-16 October as well as a number of parks, in the UK and beyond, that offer ‘green’ holiday options.

The Motorhome and Caravan Show is a must-attend event for outdoor enthusiasts, being the biggest leisure vehicle event of the year where all the new-for-2017 motorhome and caravan models are launched.

Over the six-day event, visitors will have access to nearly 400 exhibitors. In addition to all the latest product news the show will also be attended by a number of celebrities giving talks and sharing their love of the great outdoors, including Olympic cyclist Sir Bradley Wiggins alongside well-known TV presenters George Clarke, Matt Allwright and Julia Bradbury.

Visitors can also try their hands at caravan towing, motorhome and campervan manoeuvring, enjoy inspirational talks in the LIVE Theatre from leading industry experts and celebrities as well as cooking demonstrations. The show has something for everyone and with kids going FREE it’s a great family day out.

Tickets are on sale now for the UK’s largest leisure vehicle show from as little as £7.50.
