Dow Jones “World” And “Europe” Indexes Rank BNP Paribas Amongst The Best
BNP Paribas have ontained a final score of 87/100 in the Dow Jones “World” and “Europe” Sustainability Indexes. The Group ranks within the leading 8% of institutions and is has ranked significantly above the “bank” sector average.
The results of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes have been published. With an overall score of 87/100, BNP Paribas improved its performance by 5 points compared to 2015. The Group registers the strongest increase in its results since 2011. BNP Paribas is thus listed in the Dow Jones World and Europe Sustainability Indexes. This rating is significantly above the “Bank” sector average (61/100) and puts BNP Paribas in the leading 8% of ranked institutions.
This year, the Group has particularly well performed, with a score of 100/100, on 7 criteria including financial inclusion, responsible products and the Climate strategy of BNP Paribas.
“We are proud to have been present in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes for nearly 15 years. It is the result of a CSR strategy anchored in all the Bank’s decision-making processes. Thus, our good performance in the Climate strategy criteria reflects the way in which we support our customers in their transition to a low-carbon economy”, explains Laurence Pessez, CSR Officer for the BNP Paribas Group.
The result of the collaboration between the Swiss management company, RobecoSAM, and S&P Dow Jones Indices to develop socially responsible investment indices (Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes), these indices have been published since 1999. They select the best performing of the 2,500 largest companies listed on the Dow Jones Global Market Index for economic, environmental and social criteria.
