Statement: Zac Goldsmith’s Transport Manifesto Launch

 In response to Zac Goldsmith’s transport manifesto commitments on clean air, ClientEarth lawyer, Alan Andrews said: “It’s great that Zac Goldsmith wants a clean air revolution to tackle the public health crisis of air pollution in London. We welcome his commitment to making London’s air an absolute priority. He now needs to go further and commit to meeting legal limits by 2020 if we are to protect Londoner’s health and save lives.”

“With more than 9,000 early deaths a year in London caused by air pollution, reducing traffic pollution – especially from diesel vehicles – needs to be top of his list. We want to see clear proposals for a bigger, better Clean Air Zone.”
