There have been 27 challenges, 12 contestants and now we are down to the final three. It’s food porn and it seems the British people can’t get enough of it. Last week’s semi-final was watched by 10.2 million viewers – 1.4 million more than 2014. So this is our shameless plug for some food-related info.

The Great British Bake Off final airs on BBC One tonight at 8pm. And here are the finalists:

– Mum-of-three Nadiya Hussain, 30, backed by Prime Minister David Cameron and a heroine in her hometown of Luton.

– Hospital-worker Tamal Ray, 29, currently training as an anaesthetist. Grew up in Hertfordshire with parents who moved from India in the 1960s.

– Travel photographer Ian Cumming, 42, started baking six years ago after deciding that his children should eat fresh bread every day.

And now the the sustainable stuff:

Last month reigning Great British Bake Off Champion Nancy Birtwhistle Bread Restaurant went down a storm.

Try out the Thoughtful Bread Company – an award-winning eco-artisan bakery based in Bath, South West England producing hand-crafted bread from local, seasonal ingredients for Bath’s restaurants, delis, and the general public.

Check our WRAP’s information about food waste here. Food and drink accounts for 20% of the UK’s carbon dioxide emisssions and we create 15 million tonnes of waste per year.
