Blue and Green’s top 10 electric cars: #1 BMW i3

Published

on

Blue & Green Tomorrow has compiled a varied list, in both price and performance, of the top 10 commercially available electric cars.

The BMW i3 is a favourite amongst car reviewing sites, and for good reason. The BMW offers a 168bhp electric motor under the boot floor, combined with a lithium-ion battery pack. Although relatively high in price, this model retains the high end BMW spec that is appreciated in its standard, petrol fuelled fleet.

Without the range extender, the BMW’s range sits comfortably between 80-125 miles, depending on how efficiently you can drive. With the range extender, these numbers are doubled. It is also very lightweight, weighing in less than a Nissan Leaf – as its body is primarily carbon fibre.

Styled perfectly for an urban environment, although quite small, the BMW makes up for it in seating height. The perfect accomplice for city living – and won’t let you down on the looks department, either.

Currently priced at: £25,680
