Blue & Green holiday cottages: Lamp Cottage, Holloway
Lamp Cottage is an immaculate stone detached holiday property set in parkland near Matlock and is available to book now through cottages4you.
The property is located in the grounds of the historic Leahurst Estate, the former summer residence of Florence Nightingale. The cottage is approached down a private driveway through a meadow and a gate leading to a gravelled parking area.
The accommodation offers high quality and unspoiled views across the Amber Valley. Whilst taking in the scenery guests can enjoy a large teak table and chairs, custom steel barbecue and a well-stocked herb garden to cater to alfresco dining requirements.
Gardens and meadowlands surround the property and there are footpaths from the doorstep. Within a mile of the cottage is a world heritage site that houses the world’s first water-powered cotton spinning factories.
Just less than four miles away is the town of Matlock Baths, which boasts riverside cafes and bars along with traditional pubs, restaurants, tea shops and ice cream parlours. At the town visitors can enjoy a cable cart ride up the dramatic face of the gorge The Heights of Abraham and admire the views of ‘Little Switzerland’ as Byron once described the area.
Features: A living room with wood-burning stove, a spacious well-equipped kitchen and a conservatory style dining area are located on the ground floor. A separate Study/TV room and toilet can also be found on the ground floor. The upstairs gallery area leads to two double bedrooms with en-suites, along with a further double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a separate bathroom.
