This charming grade II listed house is situated in the peaceful village of Sockbridge, Cumbria, ideally situated for exploring the northern lakes and fells. The village is just 2 and a half miles from Ullswater and 15 miles from Keswick. The market town of Penrith, which has a variety of shopping facilities, is 3 miles from the property.
The property was formally part of the small estate once owned by Wordsworth’s grandfather. The holiday cottage is light, warm and spacious, and retains many original features.
There are several pleasant walks to be enjoyed across the fields and along the river directly from the house. Nearby, across a quiet no-though-road, is a completed children’s play area and local amenities are just two miles away.
Features: The property consists of a large sitting room, with wood burning stove, a spacious well-equipped farmhouse-style kitchen, separate utility room and toilet. There is also a garden room with French doors leading onto a patio and terraced garden. A double bedroom, with en-suite, twin bedroom, single bedroom and family bathroom can be found on the first floor.
