Countdown to the UK Marine Energy Conference Begins

This year’s UK Marine Energy Conference takes place in Glasgow on 5 July. Industry professionals and pioneers of wave and tidal technology in the UK and Ireland will come together for the annual event. The Marine Energy Conference aims to highlight marine energy as a practical energy source and maintain the UK & Ireland’s position as leaders of the growing renewable market.

The UK Marine Energy Conference will feature an intimate exhibition showcasing the latest technologies and solutions from across the marine energy sector. The exhibition will host the networking throughout the course of the day, with breakfast, lunch and evening drinks.

Speaker & Moderator Line-up

UK Marine Energy Conference boasts a stimulating speaker line-up. The opening session will consider policy projections with a presentation from the Scottish Government, and marine planning and licensing from the conference’s sponsor Ashfords LLP.

There will also be case studies on the UK’s latest projects from MeyGen, Minesto, OpenHydro and Marine Power Systems Ltd to technology insights from Sustainable Marine Energy Ltd and FloWave TT and SmartBay Ireland Ltd.

The conference also offers an opportunity to identify the key issues facing the industry and possible solutions. From marine robotics solutions by National Oceanography Centre and studies on community engagement strategies from the University of Edinburgh, to a hard-hitting industry analysis from Peter Fraenkel, co-founder of Marine Current Turbines Ltd.

This one-day conference will be hosted by industry experts, Dr Gordon Dalton Lead Co-ordinator of the Maribe H2020 Project and Professor Stephen Salter Emeritus Professor of Engineering Design, University of Edinburgh.
