TED talks: Transition to a world without oil – Rob Hopkins
Rob Hopkins is the founder of the Transition movement. He was recently interviewed by Blue & Green Tomorrow and in 2009, gave a TED talk about how the world can wean itself off oil.
At its heart, the Transition movement, which has spread from the Totnes in Devon to almost every corner of the world, has local communities, low-carbon energy and sustainability.
In the talk, Hopkins says, “By loving and leaving all that oil has done for us […] we are able to then begin the creation of a world which is more resilient, more nourishing, and in which we find ourselves fitter, more skilled and more connected to each other.”
