Completed in 2007, the Heronry looks like a barn in keeping with the surrounding buildings. The windows offer stunning views of Carwinley Beck and the surrounding area.
Guests are free to wander round the grounds and enjoy the large mill pond, enclosed scented garden, fish pond and stream with numerous decked and sitting areas for relaxing. The Heronry is also ideally positioned for touring and exploring the exciting surrounding areas, which are full of history, beautiful scenery and have much to please an outdoor enthusiast.
There are many places within a short drive of the property including northern Cumbria, along with its lakes, fells and numerous market towns, southern Scotland, including Gretna Green, Hadrain’s Wall and Northumberland. The city of Carlisle is nine miles away and local shops and pubs are just three-and-a-half miles from the property.
