An ‘Exceptional Year of Growth’ Signifies Top Green Awards Nomination For Forest Fuels
This week Okehampton-based biomass wood fuel distributor, Forest Fuels, have been announced as South West Green Energy Awards’ top contender for their coveted Installer of the Year award.
The news follows the fastest and most comprehensive growth period in Forest Fuels’ history, which has seen the renewable energy specialist’s annual turnover grow from £7.3 million in 2015 to £15 million in September 2016 and the number of biomass installations it supplies to grow by 106%.
Organised by Regen SW – the region’s sustainable energy agency – the South West Green Energy Awards honour the ‘innovation, dedication and creative ingenuity that has put the region at the forefront of the green energy revolution.’
“This is wonderful news,” said Peter Solly,” Forest Fuels managing director, “and clear recognition by industry experts of the key role that we are playing in consolidating the south west and UK biomass supply chain. Over the past twelve months Forest Fuels has taken huge strides forward, rolling out our successful model nationally, resulting in huge growth and exciting developments.”
In its mission to consolidate the biomass wood fuel sector, Forest Fuels has improved in every area, deliberately building a business that doesn’t have to rely on subsidies or be affected by policy changes.
While other companies have been adversely affected by government policy changes, Forest Fuels has continued with ‘business as usual’, acquiring a number of other wood fuel companies, introducing a range of innovative new products, and maintaining customer retention at above 95%.
The overall winner of the Green Energy Award for Sustainable Energy Installer of the Year will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony at Bath’s historic Assembly Rooms on 29th November 2016.
