Leading Sustainable Guam Hotel Scoops EarthCheck Award
A luxury hotel in Guam has been honoured with a prestigious EarthCheck award. The Dusit Thani Guam Resort has been awarded the impressive EarthCheck Bronze Certification. It is the first hotel in Guam to receive this honour.
EarthCheck is widely regarded as the world’s most scientifically rigorous environmental benchmarking and certification program. Earthcheck provides a framework which includes requirements specific to management systems including, quality, environment, occupational health and safety, risk management, heritage and corporate social responsibility.
Mr Stewart Moore, CEO and founder of EarthCheck, said that Dusit Thani Guam Resort recognises the benefits of being a sustainability leader within Guam.
Mr Moore said: “Dusit Thani Guam Resort is the first luxury hotel in Guam to achieve this highly sought after recognition. In doing so, it is measuring its performance against best practices and making positive changes to reduce its environmental footprint and improve its social impact.”
A wide number of Dusit Thani’s portfolio is currently recognized by EarthCheck. This includes properties in Thailand, Philippines, Maldives, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.
