Ten companies to watch
Below we highlight ten companies which demonstrate the Sustainable Future investment philosophy in practice and where they sit within our sustainability matrix.*
UK
Greencoat UK Wind PLC (A3*)
This company listed in London in 2013 and has a market capitalisation of £280 million. This is essentially an infrastructure fund that invests in operating wind farms in the UK and provides capital to buy operating wind assets from wind developers (mainly utility companies) to enable further renewable energy installation in the UK. The company is a beneficiary of our climate change and energy efficiency theme by providing lower carbon generating capacity to reduce the carbon intensity of our UK power.
ARM Holdings PLC (B3*)
This British company researches and develops semi-conductor designs which are bought by companies for their cost effective and, critically, more energy efficient chips. These get used in computers, phones and tablets. The company is a beneficiary of our climate change and energy efficiency investment theme where demand for their energy efficient product is driving sales of their products and gives them a major competitive advantage over their peers.
