WHEB release second annual impact report
WHEB released their second annual Impact Report on Friday. WHEB is a specialist investor focused on the opportunities created by the global transition to more sustainable, resource efficient and energy efficient economies. Their intention is to create a social and environmental impact as well as a financial return through all of the companies, organisations and funds they invest in.
WHEB’s Impact Report: “Prosperity through positive impact” covers the 2015 calendar year, and concentrates on the WHEB Asset Management business as well as measuring and reporting on the social and environmental performance of their listed equity strategy, the WHEB Sustainability Fund.
It is intended first and foremost to their clients, but they have a broader agenda – the campaign for more open accountable and sustainable financial markets. Transparency, they believe, is the “critical foundation on which to build these markets.”
Impact reporting is still an emerging discipline and methodologies for measurement and reporting are still developing. With that in mind, WHEB are very keen to receive feedback on their second report.
Over the past year they have seen significant developments in the nature and understanding of Impact Investing.
Alongside WHEB’s report, the company are simultaneously publishing articles discussing the place of listed equities and liquid investments within the wider universe of Impact investments. You can follow their commentary here.
Alongside a range of other topics, WHEB will be discussing these issues at their Annual Investor Conference at the Royal Society of Arts on May 10. If you haven’t received your invitation and would like to attend the event, you can contact WHEB here.
