Alliance Trust takes to the road to dispel myths around sustainable investment
One of the UK’s leading sustainable investment fund managers is hosting a series of financial adviser workshops across the UK, in an effort to dispel some of the myths circulating around the sector.
Alliance Trust Investments, which manages £1.4 billion in assets across the seven funds in its Sustainable Future range, is taking to the road to educate advisers about sustainable and responsible investment (SRI).
The firm became one of the world’s largest dedicated sustainable investment houses when it acquired Aviva Investors’ SRI funds in February. It begins its Sense in Sustainability workshops in Aberdeen on October 1.
It will visit 28 other locations over the following seven weeks, including Edinburgh, Manchester, Leeds, Oxford, Birmingham and London.
Peter Michaelis, head of Alliance Trust’s SRI team, said, “Through these workshops we aim to demonstrate to advisers and their potential clients the strength of the returns from sustainably investing, SRI is a sensible approach from both an investment perspective and an ethical one.
“Our performance so far proves this, and we are confident that we will continue to do so.”
Alliance Trust is one of several fund managers appearing at Blue & Green Tomorrow’s forthcoming sustainable investment bootcamp on September 26.
Its roadshow runs during National Ethical Investment Week, which takes place October 13-19. Alliance Trust’s team will also be presenting in Chichester, Tunbridge Wells, Guildford, Chelmsford, Norwich and London, before ending the series of events in Cambridge on November 19.

UPDATE: This article originally said the roadshow included dates during National Ethical Investment Week 2013 (October 13-19), which was incorrect.
