Network seeking to educate businesses on ethics launches crowdfund
A crowdfunding campaign seeking to raise £15,000 to create a network that aims to educate and support businesses when it comes to ethics and corporate responsibly has been launched.
The campaign comes from Ethical Value’s, which wants businesses to change their cultures and place people above profits. Taking this approach will allow businesses to rebuild trust with consumers and their employees, as well as benefiting the environment and communities, the organisation says.
Deap Khambay, founder of Ethical Values, commented, “We are building a global online community bringing like minded people and business leaders together to discuss, connect and collaborate to transform businesses to become more fair, authentic, transparent and accountable.
“We will be including things like well established business leaders sharing their views on ethical leadership, entrepreneurs sharing their stories of challenges and overcoming to motivate people in similar circumstances, showing resources, tools and services to help transform business cultures, and facilitating conversations.”
The bulk of the £15,000 raised will be used for web development and marketing resources but also for research and development. The forum is expected to be up and running towards the end of autumn, if the target is reached.
Khambay has previously conducted research and development in to how to create and sustain trusted relationships with businesses to prevent unethical behaviour. It is hoped that the network will provide businesses with a path towards a better culture based on ethical values.
Incorporating ethics into a business can benefit the firm and as a result, its shareholders. According to an insight from Ecclesiastical corporate businesses in the UK and US have wasted $150 billion (£88.5bn) over the past five years because of a widespread breakdown in business ethics.
The campaign aims to raise the full £15,000 by October 5, to learn more about the project click here.
