Funding for Low Carbon Heating – WWF Scotland comment
Responding to the announcement today that three innovative heating projects have been awarded £1.75m by the Scottish Government Fabrice Leveque, Climate and Energy Policy Officer at WWF Scotland said “We welcome this funding which will grow district heating across the country helping cut energy bills, reduce damaging carbon emissions whilst using innovative Scottish technology.
“However with over half of our energy use coming from heating our homes we need a more rapid uptake of renewable heat options. That’s why, ahead of May’s elections, we’re calling on all parties to include plans for a Warm Homes Act in their manifestos that would create a framework and encourage investment in district heating.”
