Video: UBS and B> talk SRI, charity and CSR for National Ethical Investment Week
Earlier this month, Blue & Green Tomorrow publisher Simon Leadbetter chaired a discussion – hosted by UBS Wealth Management – into the overlapping worlds of values-based investment (VBI), socially responsible investment (SRI), philanthropy and giving and corporate special responsibility (CSR).
He was joined by member of the charities team Harry Pope; values-based investing specialist Agathe Bolli; UK head of investment management Paddy Lewis; and head of community affairs and CSR Nick Wright.
In an in-depth debate, the panel covered the definitions of SRI, VBI and CSR.
The conversation explored the critical and growing role of SRI and VBI for charities, the pros and cons of negative and positive screening and how UBS sees the rising importance of these investment strategies.
The conversation then turned to the role of philanthropy, before concluding on a discussion of CSR and its role in hiring the best candidates for UBS.
