TED talks: how to expose the corrupt – Peter Eigen

Peter Eigen is an expert in corporate corruption. That is, helping to expose it. A former World Bank director, he has worked in economic development for a quarter of a century.

Transparency International, the NGO founded by Eigen in 1993, describes corruption as “the abuse of entrusted power for private gain. It hurts everyone whose life, livelihood or happiness depends on the integrity of people in a position of authority.”

This animated video is useful in further understanding corruption.

In November 2009, German-born Eigen spoke at a TED event in Berlin about how to expose the corrupt, explaining that the best way to alleviate corruption is to simply make it known to the public.
