Friends Of The Earth Welcome London Mayor’s Double Funding To Tackle Air Pollution
Friends of the Earth London Campaigner, Sophie Neuburg, has responded to the news that Sadiq Khan, the London Mayor, is to increase funding by more than double to clean London’s polluted air.
“This cash injection from the mayor is great news for Londoners forced to suffer the impacts of the capital’s filthy air.
“Cleaning up cabs and buses and tackling pollution hot spots are welcome steps forward – but tougher action is still required.
“With mayors in Paris, Mexico City, Athens and Madrid pledging to ban dirty diesel vehicles from their cities, Sadiq must follow suit.
“It’s time to end London’s appalling air pollution scandal.”
