Greenpeace React To US Election Result
Greenpeace International Directors, Jennifer Morgan and Bunny McDiarmid, have responded to the recent US election:
“Averting climate catastrophe has just become harder, but not impossible. President-elect Donald Trump may be the world’s most infamous and powerful climate menace but we will not give up. We will work even harder and invite more and more people to join this powerful movement. The stakes for current and future generations are too high and time is too short.
“We will not allow a Trump administration to distract the world or rob it of the growing momentum towards a clean energy revolution and all of the benefits that brings for the climate, public health, jobs and global security.
“The renewable energy transformation is unstoppable. China, India, and others are racing to be the global clean energy superpowers, and the US, as Donald Trump will learn, does not want to be left behind.
“People around the world will intensify their work with the many climate champions in the US: Senators, Congress people, Governors, Mayors, CEOs, citizens and in the Republican Party. Greenpeace will continue to work with the millions of people around the world who believe a greener, safer, more peaceful and just world is possible.”
