Responsible and independent tour operators: In the Saddle
In The Saddle combines horse riding with travel to every corner of the world, covering 41 countries across seven continents. It gives holidaymakers the opportunity to see many of the world’s most beautiful corners – from the Okavango Delta to Alberta’s Rocky Mountains.
Based in Shropshire, the company was founded in the 1990s and has been expanding its reach ever since. It offers trail rides, centre based rides, camping rides, five-star luxury rides, short breaks and expeditions.
One of the trips, the Loire in France, was named by the Telegraph as one of the world’s top five equestrian adventures. It combines Norman history and culture with one of man’s oldest and most sustainable modes of transport: horseback.
Consultants at the company bring a wealth of experience from working with horses and travel, with each specialising in a few of the areas, giving customers an in-depth and up-to-date account of their travel destinations. All parties are accompanied by local guides with a good knowledge of the areas travellers are visiting, giving the best possible experience.
The Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) 2012 satisfaction survey said that 98% of customers rated In the Saddle’s service as good or above, with 81% rating it as excellent.
