TED talks: let’s go all-in on selling sustainability – Steve Howard
Well-known for its flatpack furniture and Swedish meatballs, retail giant Ikea is looking to crack the renewables market, too. Steve Howard, chief sustainability officer, reveals why in this week’s featured TED talk.
Ikea announced in September that within less than a year, it would stock solar panels in all 17 of its UK stores. At the recent FT Global Renewable Energy Summit in London, Howard said selling the systems could be “as big as bookshelves” for Ikea.
In the TED talk, he explains why global retail brands must get on board with sustainability, saying it has “gone from a nice-to-do to a must-do“.
