Opposition Day Environmental Motion Responded to by WWF-UK
Ben Stafford, Head of Public Affairs for WWF-UK, has responded to the Opposition Day motion made by the Labour party today on the environment.
“Environmental challenges don’t stop at borders and many require international solutions. There is inevitably much uncertainty following the referendum vote, so the Government should set out a clear plan for how the UK will be a force for the protection of nature, both at home and globally.
“As an immediate step we must retain the environmental protections that have delivered cleaner air and beaches, helped preserve habitats and cut carbon emissions – and build on them to reverse the environmental decline we are experiencing.”
