GEV Group to Present Enhanced Cost-Saving Initiatives at Flagship Energy Event
Advanced energy, engineering and maintenance firm, GEV Group, will be joining key industry players at the East of England Energy Group’s (EEEGR) annual Southern North Sea (SNS) conference, held at the Norfolk Showground on 2nd – 3rd March.
Representatives from its four subdivisions, GEV Wind Power, GEV Offshore, Oxifree UK and Subsea Masters will be attending to showcase the range of services and innovations available across the energy sector.
Brian Smith, general manager of Oxifree UK, will take to the stage as a key speaker at the EEEGR event to present Oxifree coatings as a unique solution to complex corrosion and contamination to process equipment both on and offshore.
“Used in sectors as diverse as oil & gas, recycling and mining, Oxifree is a spray-on protective coating, proven to reduce maintenance costs by at least 40%,” says Brian. “We are delighted to have the opportunity at the conference to raise awareness of the benefits Oxifree can bring to the energy sector; it extends the life cycle of components which can either be treated whilst still live or returned to operation within minutes of application, saving considerable downtime costs.”
GEV Wind Power will also be unveiling its innovative ‘factory to site’ Quality Assurance Programme, after identifying a gap in the market to provide a service that mitigates damage sustained to turbine blades in transit.
“Blades are the most delicate component of a wind turbine,” comments GEV Wind Power’s managing director, Steve Ross. “90% are damaged to some degree during transfer, whether that’s immediately after manufacture, on route to the wind farm or prior to installation. These range from stone chips and scrapes, to accidental damage to the vortex and power curves.
“Our new service will provide considerable cost savings to both wind farm operators and equipment manufacturers as our technicians will inspect blades at each stage of the process, repairing damage on the ground as required.”
GEV Group will be among 500 delegates to attend the conference and will be located at stand C10.
