Monthly energy statistics: UK wind generation up 46%, low carbon share of electricity generation up to 43.7%.
The latest provisional monthly energy statistics produced by the Department of Energy and Climate Change were released today on 29 October 2015.
They report that, in the three month period June to August 2015, compared to the same period a year earlier, wind generation by Major Power Producers was up 46% due to increased capacity and higher wind speeds, whilst overall renewables up 43% with growth in biomass and hydro. In addition, low carbon share of electricity generation by Major Power Producers was up 6% points to 43.7%, due to rise in renewables generation.
The Major Power Producers are AES Electric, Baglan Generation, British Energy, Centrica Energy, Coolkeeragh ESB, Corby Power, Coryton Energy Company, Dong Energy Burbo UK, Drax Power, EDF Energy, Eggborough Power, E.On UK, Energy Power Resources, Falck Renewables, Fred Olsen, Greencoat UK Wind, HG Capital, Immingham CHP, Infinis, International Power Mitsui, London Waste, Magnox North, Peel Energy, Premier Power, Renewable Energy Systems, Riverside Resource Recovery, Rocksavage Power Company, RWE Npower plc, Scottish Power plc, Scottish and Southern Energy, Seabank Power, SELCHP, Spalding Energy Company, Statkraft Energy, Third Energy Trading, Vattenfall Wind Power.
