Beth Thoren To Be Appointed Deputy CEO At ClientEarth

Beth Thoren has been appointed deputy CEO at Environmental lawyers ClientEarth, taking up the post on 26 September after four years at the RSPB as Director of Fundraising and Communications.

ClientEarth’s CEO James Thornton said:

“We’re delighted that Beth is joining us and bringing with her a wealth of strategic skills which will be crucial to ClientEarth’s continued growth.

“Beth’s experience of fundraising, communications and business and her passion for the environment makes her an extremely valuable addition to our management team.”

Dr Mike Clarke, chief executive at the RSPB said:

“We are sorry to see Beth leave the RSPB after near four years but are very pleased to see that she is staying in the sector to continue as a passionate advocate for nature. She has transformed perceptions of the RSPB and grown public and financial support for the organisation substantially, as well as leading significant change within the organisation.”

Before joining the RSPB, Beth was Director of Communications at Digital UK which led the switchover from analogue to digital transmission and prior to that was Head of Digital Marketing at the BBC.

Commenting on her appointment, Beth Thoren said:

“I am delighted to be joining an organisation with such an extraordinary impact for nature. Such an innovative use of law to stand up for the natural world on which both people and wildlife depends is unique within the UK and Europe.”

ClientEarth is a public interest environmental law organisation with offices in London, Brussels, Warsaw and New York.
