Crowdfunding the health of millions – CleanSpace launches £100,000 Crowdfunder
CleanSpace, the movement for cleaner air, has announced the launch of the CleanSpace Tag, a world-first device which uses revolutionary new Freevolt technology to help ensure a cleaner future. The CleanSpace Tag which is available via Crowdfunder is a portable air pollution sensor that enables you to track your personal pollution exposure in real time. The data is then used to manage and transform the pollution levels in the UK.
The Tag enables users to access local air pollution data, choose cleaner routes, collect CleanMiles and earn free rewards for their efforts.
Not only is the tech world presented with new innovation for public health from CleanSpace, the detail behind the build encompasses breakthrough wireless charging tech, with the tag able to recharge wirelessly via harvesting energy from existing wireless networks – a world first.
Users will never need to charge their Tag or change its battery. This has never been done before, and CleanSpace is proud to announce the new potential it gives to make a real, positive difference to the world.
The CleanSpace Tag works by monitoring air pollution data to show people exactly what they’re breathing, wherever they are – while commuting, exercising or taking the kids to school. Alongside the CleanSpace app, it shows users the cleanest routes and areas available, and records when they are making clean travel choices.
This allows us to work together to reduce the personal health risks of air pollution, and help reduce the wider problem at the same time.
Available from today through Crowdfunder: www.crowdfunder.
Because it never needs to be recharged, people will always know the quality of the air they’re breathing.
The data is then anonymised and merged with current air pollution data from static sensors installed around the UK. This is then fed into the CleanSpace app, giving all users more detailed hyper-local pollution data so they can choose cleaner routes that avoid exposure to harmful air.
Lord Drayson, chairman and CEO of Drayson Technologies said: “Recent news reinforces what many of us have been saying for a long time – air pollution is a critical concern to every individual’s health. Now, more than ever, people want to understand the state of the air around them.
“Information on air pollution is available, but many people don’t know how to access or use it.
“People are demanding more immediate and localised data on the quality of air that surrounds them. They will trust information that they collect and interpret themselves; this is what CleanSpace, and the CleanSpace Tag, provides them.”
Phil Geraghty, MD of Crowdfunder added: “Not only are CleanSpace retailing their innovative tech via Crowdfunder, they are also crowdsourcing global data that will impact on the lives of millions. It’s a project close to the hearts of our team – affecting global transformation on all levels.”
With widespread adoption of the CleanSpace Tag, CleanSpace has the potential to build the world’s most detailed map of air pollution and use that data to effect real change.
CleanSpace Tags are available on Crowdfunder for £65 each which includes a £5 donation to a CleanSpace charity partner – British Lung Foundation, EarthWatch or Sustrans.
