13th World Responsible Tourism Awards
Since 2004, The World Responsible Tourism Awards, by Responsible Travel, have celebrated the most inspiring and enduring responsible tourism across the globe.
The Awards rest on a simple principle – that all types of tourism, from niche to mainstream, can and should be organised in a way that preserves, respects and benefits destinations and local people. Now in their 13th year, the vision of the Awards, which are open to any organisation anywhere in the world, is to surprise and inspire tourists and the tourism industry by what is possible to achieve through responsible tourism.
The 2016 Award winners are innovators and pioneers – they are the future of tourism. That’s why the judging process is the most rigorous around and why the Awards work with the best partners in the industry.
This year the World Responsible Tourism Awards are sponsored by the Belize Tourism Board and winning organisations and holiday providers will be announced in 5 categories; Best accommodation for responsible employment; Best contribution to wildlife conservation; Best innovation by a tour operator; Best for poverty reduction and inclusion and Best responsible tourism campaign.
