Vital Score with Wembley Contract Win
London’s latest redevelopment project is to receive a low carbon energy solution following the multi-million pound contract award to Vital Energi on the flagship North West Lands project, which is one of the major phases of the Wembley Park redevelopment
The project, which will run from February 2016 to May 2017, will see Vital Energi install the energy centre containing an 854kWe Combined Heat and Power (CHP) engine and also house nine 250kW boilers and a 12mᶟ thermal store. Vital will also be installing 363 Hydraulic Interface Units (HIUS) for the apartments on this phase.
The energy centre, located in the basement of Block E, will provide heat and hot water to four separate residential developments and Vital are supplying the distribution network, which will include thermally efficient district heating pipework.
Vital Energi’s Regional Director, Rob Callaghan commented, “Wembley Park promises to create not just a fantastic new Village for London, but also a great addition to its energy infrastructure. The developers have a clear view for a low carbon, sustainable community and we are thrilled to be helping them achieve that goal.”
Vital Energi are delivering the project for Wates Construction and the overall developer is Quintain. When complete, North West Village will provide over 1,000 new homes, with local shops, restaurants and leisure spaces.
Vital are also delighted to announce that we have won the contract to provide HIUs and risers and laterals for the Wembley Towers build.
