Remembrance Sunday
Today, the UK marks Remembrance Sunday, ahead of Armistice day on Monday.
Held on the anniversary of the end of the first world war, the event commemorates the contribution of the many brave servicemen and women from Britain and other Commonwealth nations, in both world wars and later conflicts.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
By Laurence Binyon, September 1914.
