George Clooney visits Social Bite in Edinburgh
Blue & Green recently had the good fortune to speak at conference where Josh Littlejohn, founder of Social Bite, spoke powerfully and inspirationally about his journey to create an incredible social enterprise. While one storm approached the west coast of Scotland, a media storm followed George Clooney as he visited the project in Edinburgh.
Social Bite prepare hand made food everyday, using fresh, healthy and local produce. Their menu is created by Michelin star chef Mike Mathieson, and is competitively priced, offering outstanding value for money.
But the main difference between Social Bite and the rest is that they are a ‘Social Business’. This means that 100% (every single penny) of their profits are given to good causes and 1 in 4 of their team are formerly homeless people. They also feed the local homeless community through our ‘Suspended Coffee and Food’ initiative.
Josh Littlejohn, founder of Social Bite and the Scottish Business Awards, said ahead of the visit: “The staff are unbelievably excited about George’s visit. He’s one of the most famous people on the planet and we are looking forward to introducing him to the Social Bite concept.”
