The winners of the Energy Institute (EI)’s Awards 2015 were announced last night at a prestigious ceremony in London. The trophies were presented to the worthy recipients by former paralympian, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thomson DBE.

Louise Kingham OBE FEI, Chief Executive, Energy Institute, says, “The global energy sector faces a number of challenges to deliver a safe, secure, sustainable and affordable energy system. While the task is complex, there are many great examples from those working hard in the industry, offering new ideas, work practices and innovation to support this common goal.

“The EI Awards promote the best initiatives and draw attention to the excellence demonstrated by organisations and individuals on a daily basis. This year’s award winners focus on sustainability projects that make a real difference to society, alongside proactive safety initiatives that contribute to the safety of our people.”

Lynda Armstrong OBE FEI, Chair of the EI Awards’ judging panel, and Chair of Trustees, British Safety Council, adds, “The EI Awards are a great opportunity to showcase a wide variety of projects across the whole spectrum of the energy sector. They illustrate the vibrancy of the industry and its ability to innovate to meet the challenges of today. The more we can communicate and celebrate the positive stories in our sector, the better the profile we will have with the public at large.”
