WWF Scotland React To Scottish Seafood Sector Benefitting From £11.4 Million
WWF Scotland director, Lang Banks, has commented on the news that £11m of European funding is to be distributed to Scotland’s fisheries sector.
It’s good to see some of the first round of funding go toward efforts to support more sustainable fishing practices
“It’s good to see some of the first round of funding go toward efforts to support more sustainable fishing practices and improve the health of our marine environment. Key to delivering more fish and healthy seas is the development and roll-out of more selective fishing gear, so it’s great to see funding specifically directed toward these efforts.
“Given the importance of the marine environment to Scotland’s economy and coastal communities, we look forward to continued Government support for improving the health of our seas.”
